What do we do?
We are committed to cutting-edge research to advance innovation and improvement in the treatment of diseases such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, and atherosclerosis.
Through research and development of new medical imaging techniques, we aim for global health improvement. Our goal is more effective treatments, fewer side effects, and a greater chance of cure.
We strive for research towards sustainable solutions and are committed to a healthier and cleaner environment. This entails the simple use of iron-based contrast agents, avoiding polluting batteries, and minimizing the use of radioactive substances.
With cutting-edge research, our aim is to advance the development of new imaging and nanotechnologies, contributing to innovation, implementation, and progress. We aim to achieve this through a think tank comprising top experts.
What do we do?
The team consists of dedicated experts who passionately work to improve the medical world through innovative research and the implementation of groundbreaking technologies. Under the leadership of Prof. Barentsz, the foundation works towards a healthier future by advancing knowledge and care in the field of advanced imaging.
Scientist and radiologist, Secretary of the Foundation
His focus is on the rapid application of new imaging techniques in medical care, with particular attention to clinical oncological MRI imaging using iron contrast agents. Dr. Hambrock specializes in translating innovative imaging technologies into practical clinical use, especially in the field of oncology. His expertise lies in developing and implementing advanced MRI techniques that utilize iron-based contrast agents to improve cancer detection and characterization.
Scientist and retired radiologist, Treasurer of the Foundation
His focus is on (co-)developing the bio-battery. Dr. Maes earned his PhD in experimental contrast agents for MRI (Berlin, 2009). As a retired radiologist and experienced researcher, he brings valuable expertise to the foundation's innovative projects, particularly in the development of bio-battery technology. His background in experimental MRI contrast agents provides a strong foundation for advancing novel medical imaging and treatment approaches.
Inventor and CEO of Enzyme-Energy
With a background in painting and sculpture from art academy, she conceives innovations such as the bio-battery, aiming to leave a positive impact on society and our planet. Ms. Janssen combines her creative artistic background with business acumen to develop groundbreaking technologies that address societal and environmental challenges. Her work at Enzyme-Energy focuses on sustainable energy solutions, exemplified by the innovative bio-battery concept. Her unique approach blends artistic vision with practical innovation to drive positive change.

How does It work?
What does It mean for patients?
Fantastic, the doctors only inject some iron particles. These go to normal cells, except cancer.
In the past it took years to find the cancer in the body. Thanks to this harmless "iron-water" this can be done accurately fast and without pain.
Bert Hooijer was in augustus 2014 ‘behoorlijk in mineur’. Na twee jaar was de uitgezaaide
prostaatkanker terug.
Halleluja. Ik kon iets doen.’ Hooijer kon terecht bij
professor Jelle Barentsz van het Radboud Ziekenhuis in Nijmegen. ‘Fantastisch was dat. In
eigen initiatief zo belangrijk.’
Inmiddels schaatst Hooijer weer volop. ‘Ik voel me net een jonge god ‘
